Meet the Executive Board Members

Scott Braun - President (2nd term)

Hello, I am Scott Braun and am an avid hockey aficionado and strong advocate of youth hockey sports. My son has played for the HHC the past 3 seasons, and both of us take great pride in the successes of the Club over the past seasons. I have been the Club President the past season and Team Manager the other 2 previous seasons. In addition to my involvement with the HHC, I have coached and managed local soccer, baseball, and basketball youth teams.

Professionally, I oversee, manage, and develop large engineering capital projects. The projects are multi-million dollar technical projects with the goals of eliminating operational problems
and inefficiencies, driving continuous improvement with out-of-the-box solutions, and striving to be the best-in-class market leader in our industry. During my career, I have completed projects in 4 countries and more than 12 states all the while learning how to work with, build, and lead successful teams of people.

Additionally, I am in my 4th year as the HOA President for the Estates at Hoffman Farms. In this role, the focus has been short- and long-term enhancements which improve the neighborhood
common areas, increase the market value of our homes, and develop partnerships with the city of Hilliard and nearby neighborhoods.

My goal for the Hilliard Hockey Club this upcoming season is to build upon our recent successes and put the club in a position to be successful for many years to come. A few of the items that I
will focus on are continued player development including setting team goals and providing formal player evaluations throughout the season, making the HHC the club of choice for all the
local players in our district, and developing a program vision to become the best organization in our league. At the end of this next season, I plan to leave the Club better than where it started for the 2023-24 season and ready for the next generation of families and players to grow and build further in the future.

Matt Forchione - Vice President (2nd term)

My name is Matt Forchione and I am entering my 6th Season with players in the HHC Program. My oldest son Owen played JV (Sophomore yr.) Varsity (Junior yr.) and JV (Senior yr.) and now coaches JV.  For the 2022-23 Season my youngest Drew played Varsity Offense. I have volunteered time in the Penalty Box, Time Sheet Recorder, Statistics help, EOY Banquet Committee in 20/21 and Fundraising in 2019-’20, 2021-’22, 2022-23 seasons. I spearhead the Fundraising Effort with over $18,500 in three
seasons of soliciting sponsors. I have coached youth athletics and was a High School and College athlete. In 2002, I started 9 Trees Landscape Construction with success for now 22 seasons. Golf,
travel, and spending time with family are my pastimes.

Serving the HHC in 2023-24 as Vice President I will continue to support representation for both JV & Varsity, encourage parent participation at board meetings, and establish player skills development sessions at The Battery (with Coach Trask) while continuing to lead Fundraising. I volunteer monthly for OSHL Zoom Meetings to bring League Information back to appropriate BOD or DOH.

Specifically in 2023-24 season I will support Less Weekend Travel. Considering the economics of the expense for one family over a weekend tournament, take that number by 20-22 players and 2-3
coaches. I have proposed the idea to the Varsity Scheduler, Director of Hockey Operations Cliff Sawicki as well Coaching Staff recently to limit our weekend travel to One Tournament. All support the plan.

My discussions with Coaching, Todd Delboccio and Cliff are that we may substitute 2-3 game weekend short trips to locations 2-3 hours travel not requiring a hotel stay necessarily.

In hopes parents see the savings of the ‘Less Travel’ Plan, the backside is to get moving soon to secure The Battery for 1-2 training sessions with groups of 12-16 skaters starting as early as May 2023. The discussion with Coaching is to have groups of 12-16 players per week for a two-hour session. Break players into groups of 6-9 and do skills skating and shot development on ice for 50 minutes and then utilize the back shooting lanes weight room and synthetic-ice for the next 50 minutes.

Lastly regarding fundraising, I will support that the balance 80% of what fundraising is generated will go towards lowering Varsity and JV dues equally. In the past the balance 80% has been applied to the team the player gaining the sponsor plays. In 2022-23 season I believe that was about $200 per family in reduced HHC Dues for Varsity Families.
Entering myself in the HHC BOD Presidential Ballot is to further support the HHC in player development, improve Fundraising/Sponsorship revenue, to improve HHC participants communication, and continue to have our Peers see HHC as the leader in Central Ohio.

Ramesh Korra - Treasurer (1st term)

I am a proud resident of Hilliard, having lived here more than 25 years. My kids were born and brought up in Hilliard and we have been part of the hockey community for a while. My goal has
been to continue to contribute and give back to the Hilliard hockey community and continue to build on the club’s successes. If elected, I’ll contribute to the Board by advocating player development and making hockey enjoyable for our kids and parents.

Background
• I am the father of a boy and girl. My son, Akhil has been a player with Hilliard Hockey Club for the last 3 years and my daughter, Aanya currently plays on a CCYHA travel team.
• I have actively volunteered in my kids’ sports, both hockey and soccer; have been assistant coach for my son’s youth soccer team in the past.

Qualifications
• I am a hockey parent just like you all.
• Parent volunteer on my kids’ sports teams since 2015; last year I was the full time team coordinator for all game day activities for my daughter’s hockey team.
• I love playing sports, have been playing rec soccer for many years, played some adult rec hockey, and other sports. I have been coaching my adult rec soccer team for many years.
• Engineer by background, I have been managing IT teams for over 25 years and currently manage a Digital IT team for the Safelite Group.
• As part of my current job, I manage 30+ global IT resources, team budget and ROI for the Digital application portfolio, an experience that I can apply to this role.

Throughout the years I have become greatly invested in the kids, and in Hilliard Hockey and would love an opportunity to be a member of the board so that I can take a more active role in the organization and continue to support kids in doing what we all love, playing hockey.

Todd DelBoccio - Secretary (1st term)

Hello, my name is Todd DelBoccio and I’ve been involved with the Hilliard Hockey Club for three years. My son Dominic will be entering his senior year for Hilliard. Dominic first put on skates at the age of four and has been playing hockey ever since. He played House and moved up to the CCYHA AA program.

Professionally, I teach Social Studies at Hilliard Bradley High School. I’ve been teaching for over 29 years at three different school districts. I first began my teaching career with the Youngstown City Schools, then moved to Las Vegas, NV where I taught for the Clark County School District and at UNLV before moving to Hilliard in 2002. I graduated from Youngstown State University and earned a master’s from The University of Las Vegas (UNLV).

I’ve been coaching for over 26 years at the high school level. I coached football for 13 years and softball for 22 years. My last year coaching travel softball, we were able to commit 100% of our players to college. My goal was to enhance the player experience by creating relationships and lifelong skills that would help them throughout their lives. The goal was always to develop young men and women to be productive citizens within our society.

I was involved with the Upper Arlington Softball Organization (UASA). We worked together with fund raising, player development, scheduling, and maintaining a healthy and vibrant
organization for future generations. We provided year-round opportunities for athletes at all levels and ages so they could enhance their skills at a competitive level. The goal was for players to eventually compete at the JV and or Varsity high school levels.

I’m running for Secretary because I believe in the Hilliard Hockey Club and I believe that my skill set would only benefit the club. I would like to continue and build upon the transparency, communication, and player development throughout the program. I believe I could assist the Hilliard Hockey Club in maintaining a high level of competitiveness at the JV and Varsity levels. I want the club to continue to strive for excellence in a competitive environment and for each player to be successful.
